The general goal of this project is to use recent RNA-Seq NGS techniques and differential gene expression analysis to infer the genomic changes underlying mechanisms induced by natural selection across key steps in pollination in two species of Macaronesian Malvaceae: the ornithophilous Navaea phoenicea and the entomophilous Lavatera acerifolia, using Lavatera maritima as an external control group.
